OUR STORY

ACACIA MOYO - WHERE TRADITION MEETS TECHNOLOGY began in 2017 as an idea hatched between Kenny Mann, who grew up among the Maasai in Kenya, and  Anthony Carlson of Santa Fe, NM, who spent several years in Kenya as a young man.   We wanted to create a center of learning for the Maasai community of Kitengela, Kenya, whose members are struggling to maintain their pastoralist lifestyle while battling poverty,

loss of cultural traditions, and lack of marketable skills.

ACACIA MOYO - WHERE TRADITION MEETS TECHNOLOGY

is a  registered

Community-Based Organization (CBO) in Kenya

with a rapidly growing membership.  We work with community leaders and individuals to create sources of sustainable income, such as the beading tradition, education,

restorative agriculture, and bee-keeping.
